General information
Protective association of sound engineers – authors, z.s. (OAZA) is an association that nonprofitly represents authors – sound engineers and other copyright holders (e.g. heirs) in the exercise of their proprietary copyrights on the basis of contracts since 2006.
If the user wants to use a work that the sound engineer as an author (audio or audiovisual work) also contributed to, he must pay the royalty, for the permission to use the work. Any author’s work may be used only with the consent of the author, heir or other person in charge of the exercise of copyright – in the case of sound engineers, that is OAZA. In the case that the user would use the author’s work without consent he would breach the rights of the author and subject him to the sanctions provided by the Czech legal order (especially Section 40 of the Copyright Act).
Funds collected from individual OAZA users will be paid to represented authors according to the OAZA Distribution rules.
Collected rewards can only be reduced by the cost needed for their collection because OAZA is a nonprofit association.
